Crows. Sworc.

Yesterday I tried to film (well, did film), three crows in my grandma's yard eating what I later found out to be a rat. They were cawing like mad for probably a few hours, and each of them took turns eating the rodent. I tried to think up ways to scare myself about what three crows and their cawing might signify. The most plausible one was that they were worked up about the coming thunder storm (reason enough to be scared, I unplugged everything as it shook my entire house several times and ran into the basement to sleep on the couch). Disappointingly, the clips I recorded of the birds outside (which were some damn good shots to be edited together, if I do say so myself), were all lost in the uploading process from my camera while everything else stayed in tact. It's a shame because I like to film animals and birds primarily, particularly when they're doing something so basic (and yet revolting) as pecking at the insides of a dead thing. For some reason what I didn't expect was to see the breast bones exposed and how slight it was, in perfect condition, apart from flesh being missing.

Hopefully I've appropriately disgusted you. It's good to be back.

Hi all,

It would be nice to start updating semi-frequently. I'm home in Cape Breton, getting back into old routines of spending an inordinate amount of time by myself. Tonight I skated around some parking lots a bit (oh, the excitement), and filmed strangers while they weren't looking. In a few days I'm due for a trip in southern Ontario .. going to visit my sis and her hubby. So far as I know the trip is going to look something like this: London/Windsor/Toronto/Niagara Falls/Detroit. Geography isn't my strong suit so that's probably in an awful order. In any event it should prove interesting .. if not overwhelmingly / unbearably hot.
